A one-of-a-kind painting on the edges of your book, visible every time it sits on your shelf: a favourite scene, a character, a place you love. I design and paint every commission entirely by hand, just for you.

Lots of people love a book but aren’t sure what to paint on it, and that’s fine. Just send me the title. I’ll design the scene I think suits it best, show you a sketch, and we’ll finalise it together before I start painting.
Prices
- £220 per book, paperback or hardback
- From £400 per box set, painted as one scene across all the books
A single book is always £220, whatever the design. For box sets, the price depends on the set, and I’ll confirm it before you pay. If you’d like me to source the book, I’ll add its cost too. Shipping is extra and also confirmed before you pay.
Designing it together
A book’s edge is a narrow canvas, so not every detail of a scene will fit. Before I paint, I’ll suggest how to make your idea work on your edges, so the finished painting reads clearly from the shelf. You approve the sketch first.
How it works
- Request – fill in the form below with your idea, or just the book title.
- Confirmation – I reply by email with the design idea, the price and an estimated timeframe.
- Payment – you receive a secure payment link.
- Sketch – I send you the design for approval. This is the moment to ask for changes.
- Painting – I paint your book by hand, protect the painting with a fixative and send it to you, wrapped and closed with my wax seal.
What to include in your message
- Book title, edition and format (paperback, hardback or box set)
- The scene, character or idea you’d like painted, or “surprise me”
- Whether you’ll send your own copy or would like me to source it
- Any deadline, such as a birthday or a gift
Places are limited each month, so get in touch early. Would you rather have a book straight away? Visit my shop: some books are ready to ship, and I can paint any sold design again.
